The
typical Large Vessel Cutter is easily installed on vessels with oil
seal bearings. The cutting blades are made of stainless steel, which
is hardened to approximately 43-45 Rockwell C. This hardening
characteristic ensures the greatest cutting ability and is the hardest
metal known to remain stable under salt water. The remainder of the
cutter parts are 316L stainless; this metal is suitable where hardness
is not required for performance, but it is also very stable in salt
water. The box welded into the rope guard is also made from stainless
steel. The compatibility of the metals allows the stainless steel box
to be easily welded into rope guard.
The typical Medium Vessel Cutter is designed to fit all vessels
with propeller hub diameters 9" - 40"; the stationary cutter assembly
can be mounted directly onto a strut or into a rope guard. The cutter
installation is very versatile and can be adapted to almost any
application. |
