Spurs Marine is a two-part assembly, one or more rotating cutting blade assemblies and one stationary cutting blade assembly, attached to a vessel's propeller hub and to the rope guard or strut respectively. The purpose of this mechanism is to engage lines and other debris caught by the propeller and cut them free instantly with each revolution of the propeller.

The concept of SPURS - cutting lines - is simple, but the technology involved is extremely sophisticated in terms of design, materials, and precision manufacturing for dependability over millions of miles of use. Years of research and testing have resulted in a patented system as reliable and durable as it is effective.

Precision machined, heat treated and hardened stainless steel metals, hi-tech hydrophilic and bronze bearings, and ingenious corrosion control engineering are integral features of the SPURS system. However, perhaps the most important feature is something you can't see: Factory Technical Support. With every SPURS installation you can count on step by step assistance - on site if needed - to ensure that your cutter system is properly installed. Your satisfaction is GUARANTEED.

Routine maintenance during regularly scheduled dry-docking is simple. SPURS are designed to withstand the rigors of constant use year in and out. SPURS self-centering position control prevents surface to surface contact under normal operating conditions. The cutter blades are forced together with a built-in

Approved by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), SPURS is the standard line entanglement clearance system for thousands of vessels worldwide. Avoid the expense of delay and repair by installing genuine SPURS cutters on every vessel in your fleet. Model 40/32 Typical Medium Vessel Cutter
